Tony is a chode; this much is true. He's also quite antagonistic. So why let him stay? Well, I'm not sure; he DOES lose every argument - probably a point in his favor. He can also serve as a reminder to us all that we won't convert everybody. Some people just don't get it and never will; some have some resentment they can't get past. Maybe it's a combination.

So I'm leaving tony's fate to a tribe vote. Yes or no - winner take all.

I have been letting him stay mainly because it was such a long road for me to get where I am. I used to have a job that required a truck, I have restored an old 69 Toyota Land cruiser that was the coolest thing ever - AND it could pass California emissions standards thanks to the engine rebuild. I used to eat at Taco Bell every day - I just didn't know any better, I believed that a chicken taco was a healthy thing to eat. I was also running an average of 270lbs.

Today, I eat some fish, even less chicken (even then it's organic) and virtually NO dairy. When I trade my current car in I'm hoping to get the new Honda Civic - It's a hybrid and runs on natural gas as well. I spend too much time driving and I feel I have a responsibility to leave as light a footprint as I can. I'm an avid cyclist - www.midnightridazz.com - I recycle even when I have to make an effort to do so. I buy those reusable cloth shopping bags and use them when I remember.

One thing I admire about the people I see posting here is they have a concern outside themselves. I didn't just chage overnight, I modeled myself after people who had what I wanted, who lived in a way that I would be proud to live. The main reason I don't chuck him: my hatred of censorship. I hate it on TV, in the newspapers, even on Tribe. He's the minority voice but it's not HIM I'm protecting. I feel as though I'm looking out for the person who maybe wants to do more but is afraid they will be harassed for not going far enough. 7 years ago, I could have never envisioned myself having some of the beliefs I do today.

As a nemesis he's weak. When Vendetta joined this tribe (I invited an entire tribe of Hummer enthusiasts - she was the only one with the balls to show up) she was up to the task. She was smart, hilarious and she was a multi dimensional person who often stood with the people in this tribe on the big issues. Tony is just a punk, a coward hiding behind a one tribe alt, but he's contributing by flaming, which often leads to intelligent responses. Too bad he can't participate.

I started this tribe in fun; I had no idea this woud be a place where I could find thoughtful environmental discussion and links to sites where more info was available. I'm all for bringing the pain on the idiots of the world and we need to keep doing that. In my estimation, tony does HIS cause more harm than good just by being "itself". I think this could be a nice place for people to learn more about important issues while having a good time. Taking ourselves too seriously is just playing to the tonys of the world.

I vote to keep him...for now - Maybe later I'll boot him as a Valentines Day present to you guys!
