Mon, November 20, 2006 - 9:17 PMYes but I don't think the grandma who ran over and killed her grandson in the driveway was doing any equipment hauling or heavy construction lifting...

Mon, December 4, 2006 - 12:04 PMI'm sure joeyp/tony will post something to the effect that they probably weren't wearing seatbelts (which they probably weren't) but so much for SUVs being safe, armored vehicles:
"BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. -- A sport utility vehicle carrying Lane Garrison of TV's "Prison Break" and three teenagers struck a tree, killing a 17-year-old boy, police said.
Two 15-year-old girls inside the vehicle were also injured, one critically, during the late Saturday night accident, police said. Garrison, 26, had minor injuries.
The vehicle jumped a curb and hit a tree. Authorities were trying to determine who drove the SUV, which was registered to Garrison.
The boy was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where he died. His name was not released. The conditions of the girls were not immediately released." -

Re: I have an idea....
Tue, December 5, 2006 - 8:27 PMthat's funny. i knew it was only a matter of time before you'd try and claim a connection between me and whoever tony is. for the record, i am not operating a profile under the name "tony". but i am sure that someone else in this group is. whoever tony is asked to add me to his friend list and i did. very conviently, i might add, after i made the argument that vandalizing hummers deserved an other than peaceful response. i don't now, nor do i ever intend to own a hummer. and, if i did, it would be the original full size that i could mount a 50 caliber on not these cheap knock-offs that are marketed to the masses. what you should have done is send me a private message asking me if i was masquerading as someone else in order to cause trouble rather than make a fool of yourself by implicating me as a troublemaker in a thread and attaching a tragic story to it. a kid is dead and it really doesn't matter what kind of vehicle he was driving. it matters that he is dead. -

Wed, December 6, 2006 - 11:46 AMYeah, you're right, I should just send you a private message next time I intend to use a / to represent "and/or" instead of making it look like I'm accusing you of being tony; or a message detailing why I jumped you to the punch about "people not wearing seatbelts kill people, not SUVs" and oh look a smile shiny object -

Wed, December 6, 2006 - 1:38 PMxnowhereboyx's posts are some of the most erudite on this board. to say his writing is inchoherent simply shows your own lack of comprehension skills. -

This is the maximum depth. Additional responses will not be threaded.Unsu...

Re: I have an idea....
Fri, December 8, 2006 - 3:07 PMFrom the December 4 issue of TIME, in the Year in Medicine section (the last sentence is the key):
Think you're safer because you talk on a hands-free cell phone while driving? Think again. Using either type of phone while trying to drive a car is roughly equivalent to driving with a blood-alcohol concentration of 0.08%, which is high enough to get you arrested in any of the 50 states for driving under the influence. Folks who use hands-free cell phones in simulation trials also exhibited slower reaction times and took longer to hit the brakes than drivers who weren't otherwise distracted. Data from real-life driving tests show that cell-phone use rivals drowsy driving as a major cause of accidents. SUV drivers, it turns out, are more likely to talk on a cell phone - and to resist wearing their seat belt.
