Hummers have no payload and barely carry enough passengers as well as the tonnage that stresses the already stressed road system. Really, they serve no one except the ego driven. At least the Expedition I own is used for equipment and essential. I could never get a 4 man ENG crew in a hummer, no fucking way, I looked at Hummers of all sizes, just cant do it. -

I can't see a logical need to drive a hummer, where trucks and other SUV's can be used out of necessity. I'm don't believe that they always are, but they can be. And Hummers are really ugly.

The latter is the target of all my vitriol. It's nothing more than an overgrown suburban usually seen outfitted with dubs and street tires. It is barely capable offroad and is little more than the product of a marketing effort that seeks to capitalize on the image of the original vehicle. What baffles me is that people actually buy the silly things simply because of appearances. The same sort of materialistic, self-centered attitude that causes these people to buy H2's also causes me to think they are assholes. -

H2's ARE different however they still have the same useless space issues as well as weighing over the limit on most suburban streets. Its a vanity thing. My reason for such a distaste of these H2 owners is that they perpetuate the militaristic and irresponsible republican values and attitudes that are fucking this country up in the first place. They don't scream of Peace they scream of fear and ignorance. -

Other guys who drive "sensible" Vehicles will just laugh all the way to the pumps as the price of gasoline goes to 4:00 per gallon.(and IT WILL!) Then we will see craploads of hapless Hummer Owners frantically trading them in and used car lots full of Hummers and "Other Big Vehicular Behemoths" that no longer serve as items to brag about becuase it will cost the guy who drives it 80:00 a Tankful. At the current MPG these vehicles get,thats about 550:00 a month in FUEL Cost Only!..and for "minimal Driving" at less than 200 Miles per week. As for me? I'd rather Drive my Toyota (MINI)Pickup and have money in the bank. I can carry MORE payload for my work in that than in a Full Size Hummer. and I get 24MPG City and 30 MPG highway(Minimum),SURE..my little pickup isn't something to BRAG about,but then I'm not that kinda Guy! -

Admittedly there are fuel burning things that have become necessary in our everyday life, but because we have not demanded it we were not given alternative energies. I'm assuming that you own one of these offensive, screw the planet vehicles and that would explain your defensiveness. You are very possibly one of those people that might live in an area such as Arizona or Florida and would not see the benefit of installing solar panels in your home as your energy resource. A much better investment than an ugly, wasteful vehicle. There are soldiers dying in Iraq because of America's oil dependency. People have the right to feel resentftul. People with morals anyway! I also hate leaf blowers. -

I almost got run down by a blue H3 yesterday on my way to the gym. It was at a 4-way stop sign and I started walking across the street and this H3 came down to the stop sign, barely slowed down, almost ran me over, and made a right turn (with no signal of course) from the middle of the street to the middle of the cross street and drove away. It was driven by this older Philipino-looking couple, and the woman in the passenger seat had a look of horror on her face that I was walking towards the car, like I was going to carjack them or something, when I was walking towards the car because, oh, I don't know, maybe I was trying to cross the street at a stop sign where I had the right of way and they drove right in front of me.
I saw a few Hummers in Palm Springs a few weeks ago, which is so annoying because there is no use for them there. Most driving in Palm Springs is across town, and there are no parking places big enough for those Sherman tankers. I am a firm believer in karma, and people who drive Hummers will somehow get their propers some day.... -
